June 15 - September 23, 2013 the MoMA will present an exhibition on Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, better known as Le Corbusier. The exhibit will include his works as an interior designer, architect, artist, writer, city planner and photographer. Many of his designs have been recreated over the years, so sneaking a peak of the originals would absolutely be worth it. Some of my favorite pieces came out of his designs for the Indian city, Chandigarh. He, along with his cousin, Pierre Jeanneret, were in charge of the planning the entire city, right down to the furniture. Many of the pieces, being over 50 years old, had started showing age and had been discarded. Luckily, they have been rediscovered and brought back to the attention of collectors and enthusiasts. This living legacy exemplifies why Corbusier is considered one of the worlds leading architects.
